Call for YA Fiction Submissions to Anthology: What Doesn't Kill You

The editors of What Doesn’t Kill You: An Anthology of YA Short Fiction are seeking YA short stories for their forthcoming collection. When submitting work, please interpret the title-as-theme “What Doesn’t Kill You” broadly.

Email submissions with the subject line “YA Submission” no later than 31 October 2017 to:

Submission guidelines:
 
· under 5000 words
· YA style, content, & voice (no adults reflecting on childhood)
· no chapters of larger works, though independent stories about characters from longer works are acceptable
· protagonist(s) must be between 13-18 (inclusive)
· previously published or unpublished work accepted
· for previously published work, author must have retained the rights for reprint or must request and obtain those rights from the proper publisher and obtain exact wording as to how the previous publisher wishes to be credited and acknowledged in the anthology

Cover letter, please include:

 
· author’s name
· story title
· word count
· age of protagonist(s)
· whether story has been previously published
· if previously published, where, when, and confirmation of rights to reprint including exact wording to credit previous publisher
