Fiction Contest: The Laurel Review

FIRST ANNUAL
Midwest Short Fiction Contest
The Laurel Review/Greentower Press

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All submissions must be postmarked between February 1, 2011 and June 1, 2011. Send us your short stories of any style. Keep submissions under 30 pages, please.

Please include a cover letter with name, address, email address, manuscript title, and a short note establishing your connection to the Midwest.

Manuscripts will be read blind. Please do not include your name on the short story manuscript.

There's a $10.00 reading fee. Please make checks payable to GreenTower Press. Reading fee also entitles you a one-year subscription to The Laurel Review. Subscription will be enacted for address provided in the cover letter.

The contest winner will be invited to give a reading at Northwest Missouri State University as part of the University's Visiting Writers Series. Travel expenses, lodging and an honorarium of $250 will be provided.

Include SASE for notification of results. If you'd like acknowledgement of receipt, send SASP.

The contest is open to anyone who is living in, from, or closely associated with the Midwest. The winning story will be published in The Laurel Review. The winning writer will also receive two contributor's copies and an opportunity to read at Northwest Missouri State University with an honorarium of $250, plus travel expenses and accommodations.

All entries will be considered for publication in The Laurel Review.
