Writing Competition: The Stage Company and The Varsity Center

The Stage Company and The Varsity Center are co-sponsoring a writing contest

Sun/Moon Stories - Call for original written work, for reading/performance at the Varsity Center the evening of Friday, August 18

What are we looking for?

The writing can include personal and philosophical and cultural musings on the Eclipse. Want suggestions? These might help you start thinking, but you're not limited to these: How will/should the eclipse be important to the world, or just to you? What can it teach us/you? Its historical significance? What does it mean in your life, if anything? Spiritual connections? Cultural essays?

Type of writing: Use whatever style of writing you choose. These are some examples to get you started, but you are not limited to these: short play, essay, poetry, spoken word
Maximum Length: max of 10 minutes for poetry or spoken word, max of 20 minutes for other written work

Age categories:
Less than 13 years old
Ages 13 to 18

If the entry is a group effort, the work will compete in the category based on the age of the oldest contributor
