Call for Submissions of Science Fiction Tanka and Kyota : Atlas Poetica

The Special Features section of Atlas Poetica is seeking submissions for a collection of 25 Science Fiction Tanka and Kyoka to be co-edited by Julie Bloss Kelsey and Susan Burch. This collection will be published on the AtlasPoetica.org website.

Poets are invited to send up to ten tanka / kyoka each, but only one poem may be chosen from each poet, in keeping with the theme and format of previous 25 poem Special Features on the Atlas Poetica website. Original poems are being sought; however, tanka and kyoka previously published on personal social media accounts will also be considered, as long as publication information is provided. We are not accepting tanka prose, nor poetry that has been published in journals, books, or other collaborative websites prior to being submitted to the 25 Science Fiction Tanka and Kyoka Special Feature.

The general Atlas Poetica guidelines apply; therefore, poets must be age 16 or older. Poems should be contained in the body of an email. Please query before sending attachments. To see the full list of guidelines, as well as Special Features from the past, head on over to our main webpage. Please include a bio sketch written in the third person (75 words max.). Include your location: [City, State/Province] Country. We reserve the right to edit bios for length, grammar, or any other reason. We may decline to publish biographies due to space limitations.

Deadline: The deadline for submitting to 25 Science Fiction Tanka and Kyoka is November 30, 2017. The planned publication date is spring 2018. Special Features are published on an irregular schedule.
