Short Fiction Competition: Salem Literary Festival

Salem Literary Festival short fiction prize

The Salem Literary Festival announces a national writing contest, offering a $200 prize for the winning work of short fiction (max 3000 words) on a theme of New England History--.broad and creative definitions encouraged. The panel of judges will include bestselling authors Brunonia Barry (The Lace Reader,William Morrow, 2008) and Katherine Howe (The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane,Voice, 2009).

The winning author will be invited to read at The Salem Literary Festival, to be held September 17–19, 2010. The winning piece will be published in the online culture magazine Art Throb as well as here on The Salem Literary Festival website. Finalists will be listed on the festival website.

-Deadline: Entries must be received between June 15 and August 15, 2010.

Entries should be submitted electronically with $5.00 fee.
